Since 2014 AMCS Ltd have been servicing Adria Caravans & Motorhomes under warranty and protecting your investment in your Adria pride & joy.

Our experience of the Adria caravan and motorhome build process started with a full day training course, allowing us to understand the factory build process, quality control and most importantly what is expected of a registered Adria Service Partner, Following on, constant updates from Adria along with help & support from the Adria UK Team have allowed us to improve our knowledge in specific Adria systems used in the manufacture of their UK caravans & motorhomes.

Included in our registration is direct access to the Adria Service & Warranty Portal to allow direct logging of your service documents & leakage documents ensuring that you warranty is maintained with minimum hassle to you. The access to the portal also gives us parts information for your vehicle and “must have” updates from Adria.

Bailey Unicorn III (3) & Unicorn IV (4) Roof Strap Failure – 2015 Unicorn III Vigo.

Next into our workshop is the very well appointed Bailey Unicorn III Vigo with Water ingress readings in the rear floor up to 70%.

Further investigation, including removal of the internal strap covering, revealed water ingress to the rear roof joining strap.

Removal of the internal top cupboards (to gain access to brackets) then removal of the securing brackets revealed water seeping through the original seal.

The darker colour on the seal at the middle shows the water path.

Bailey produce a repair / upgrade kit for this issue, sealants have been changed and all cleaners & primers are supplied along with a new roof strap, brackets and additional washers to correct the issue and future proof the sealing of this joint.

Cleaning & preparation is key to the repair the roof must be cleaned, prepared and primed prior to application of the new roof strap and sealant.

Once prepared the new alternative sealant configuration is applied and the roof strap is re-secured to the caravan with new brackets, end caps and internal cover.

Job complete 48 hours for the sealant to cure the Caravan is seal tested with water outside of 30 minutes to check for visible leaks – non recorded.

The Caravan floor will be retested 3 months after repair to ensure floor readings have returned to normal.

Out at a festival during 2018 the owners this motorhome was unlucky enough to have a faulty leaking gas valve on the fridge, a very rare but possible occurrence.

Away from the motorhome at the time the fridge caught fire, a nearby fellow camper spotted the fire. Entry was gained by smashing the front cab window

 

Upon entry the fire was extinguished, only after extensive damage to the kitchen area.

The whole of the Kitchen furniture required replacing.

After the fire was extinguished and upon exit the step collapsed and the floor was also damaged.

After approval from the insurance company repair work commenced.

• External side skirts removed
• Damaged Floor Removed
• Floor Timbers & Ply Replaced
• Damaged Internal Wallboard Replaced
• Appliances removed
• Full Lower Kitchen (Fire Damaged) Removed
• Worktop Replaced and Recovered
• New Kitchen built from Matching Furniture board to original specification and improved in places. Due to the age of the motorhome furniture from Swift Group no longer available
• Fridge Replaced.
• Gas checked, 12v wiring loom to engine bay and fridge replaced / repaired
• Full deep clean of motorhome performed by Paul Rice @ Onpar Cleaning. – inside & OUT

Upon collection the owners were delighted with the result

An unfortunate day for one of our valued customers. A road traffic collision on a routine trip out resulted in an insurance claim for the rear bumper broken in 14 places.

 

The replacement bumper from Swift Group is supplied in white. The rear colours on each part also differed a look the customer wished to keep.

With the new bumper correctly colour matched and sprayed the bumper is now replaced and the Motorhome is back out & about on its travels

Last week we replaced a Dometic RM8550 Fridge Freezer with a new Thetford N3175 unit in a 2010 Autotrail Delamere Motorhome. The customer was delighted with the results along with a repair to the fitted Theford oven that would not stay alight after releasing the gas knob.

Both Fridge Freezers have similar dimensions so the new unit occupied the existing furniture perfectly. The new Fridge Freezer was fitted gas & Carbon Monoxide tested along with 3 way supply testing & auto-switching capabilities confirmed.

Hi Rob,

The fridge is working great, I can leave it on auto and not worry about it or put it on to gas and give maximum charging to my leisure batteries while driving if they’ve got a bit low. I’ve even made ice cubes! The old fridge never worked this well even when I first bought the van.

I had a bit of a problem with the oven but found that it was my fault, If I close the door too quickly it blows the oven out! So as long as I’m a bit careful with that it’s fine.

It’s like having a new van now that everything is working as it should.

If any of your other customers are thinking of changing over to the Thetford fridge, so far I can only recommend it, it cools much better and doesn’t seem to be using any more gas probably due to running it on No.2 rather than No.4 or 5 which was needed with the old one.

Over the last two weeks we have been called out to many problems with gas appliances on caravans & motorhomes as owners prepare for the cold winter months.

Gas appliances on your leisure vehicle are perfectly safe to use and are often more efficient and more powerful than the electrical systems that are also fitted.

To ensure they are ready for winter and safe – “Get Them Checked”. Failure to do so can cause issues to your leisure vehicle and yourself & endanger others.

Yesterdays visit shows exactly what an unchecked appliance can do, simply by just trying to light it.

The following photos show damage after a fire underneath a space heater (Gas Fire) in a caravan.

The underside of this Caravan fire has developed a leak and set fire to the bottom of the caravan.

The gas valve has corroded and gas escaped under the floor, causing the explosion & fire, the white colour on the floor is dry powder from the fire extinguisher.
